Program Note

From Mark: Herein a sequence of poems done with some pain, all based loosely on the kind of letters little magazine editors so often discover with submissions (or from reading between the verses); and which began as a kind of necessary valve to let off some editorial frustration. My purpose has not been to attack individuals, but to parody, with charity I hope, some of the best known types...at least one of which we all have probably been at one time or another.
